About the Shooner Polotsk
The Schooner Polotsk was built in 1777 in Ragusa, Italy. Originally given a Greek name, the schooner was used as a privateer to raid Turkish trading ships. However, the schooner soon met the end of its career when it was captured during the Second Russo-Turkish War (1787-1791) by the Turkish fleet. Subsequently, it was purchased bu Russia and renamed Polotsk, and served as a signal ship for the remaining years.

Model Boat Kit
The Schooner model boat kit has been rebuilt as accurately as possible, by recreating a double-planked wooden ship model. The kit includes laser cut wooden parts for easy assembly, as well as expertly cast anchors and gun barrels. The brass detailing has been photo-etched and wooden blocks, deadeyes, brass belaying pins and nine spools of rigging lines are included. The model includes detailed sail plans and cloth for sewing the sails. The model also comes with the text manual and a photo manual, which details every stage of the construction process.
