Big 18th Century Chinese Export porcelain Armorial Platter Arms of MacDonald

$ 264

Availability: 100 in stock
  • Maker: Chinese
  • Region of Origin: China
  • Condition: Here is a huge 17 1/2" across antique platter that I inherited as part of the disbursement of my late Aunts estate in Charleston, South Carolina. It was purchased by her late husband years ago whom was a collector of finer antiquities. I am not even a novice on this type of thing but being labeled by Terry as to a description of what it is allowed me to at least probably identify it. It is said to be an 18th Century Chinese Lowestoft platter with arms of Macdonald according to the old inventory tag. Please examine the photos and draw your own conclusions. I have no reason to believe this is not authentic and I have confirmed the Armorial crest to indeed represent the MacDonald clan of Scotland. There are millions of crude elements in this big platter and I have researched similar examples on Google and most flaws appear normal to these early wares. There are no chips or cracks but some rim wear with some glaze flaking it appears. Could be firing crudeness. Questions in advance please.

    Description

    Here is a huge 17 1/2" across antique platter that I inherited as part of the disbursement of my late Aunts estate in Charleston, South Carolina. There are millions of crude elements in this big platter and I have researched similar examples on Google and most flaws appear normal to these early wares and probably lend credence to it's authenticity . There are no chips or cracks but some rim wear with some glaze flaking/chipping in a spot it appears. Could be firing crudeness. Questions in advance please. I will gladly add to my description if knowledgeable collectors offer insight into this examples origins and exact regional production area and more accurate date. Shipped via UPS ground as priority mail will be super expensive due to size of packed box.  I will pay insurance out of pocket and this item will certainly be properly packed. Looks to be a museum piece! International buyers can expect additional charges as Ebay will manage final export details after our business is initially concluded.

    *************INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS PLEASE READ*******************
    I have neglected to enable the INTERNATIONAL shipping function so must quote total shipping prior to international bidders bidding as they will be considered ineligible to bid and blocked by Ebay. HOWEVER, International bidders CAN BID if they TEMPORARILY CHANGE their Ebay shipping address to a United States address and then bidding will be enabled. If they win then I will send them an invoice with total shipping cost quoted to respective countries but they must go back and change their shipping address prior to payment (DO NOT PAY UNTIL DONE WITH THAT) to where they want it shipped and WAIT for me to send invoice. Best I can do because I cant enable international bidding as a bid has been placed on the item. Message me with any other questions. The Ebay community offered this solution to this scenario. I can only assume this works.
